Gigabyte aero 17 inch diagnosed power board problem

Told charger has a problem and the power board is getting intermittent electricity but they can't pinpoint problem. Power board apparently inseparable from motherboard and a new power board will cost more than entire laptop. I was told similar for my imac laptop. I bought a new mac power board and replaced it with ifixit's great assistance and it worked fine for years.

Are they just trying to get me to buy a new computer rather than replacing the power board?

Is the power board separate from the motherboard and replaceable?

Is there a guide for that?

Where does the electricity track through to backtrack problem? E.g. battery etc.

Thank in advance.

Hi @ari77116

Connect a voltmeter to the charger's flex cable DC output plug connector and with the charger powered on, check if there's a steady 19V DC showing on the meter, when you gently flex the charger cable where it exits the charger case and also where it enters the DC output plug connector.

If the voltage stays constant, then the charger is OK.

If it varies or disappears and then returns then there's a fractured wire in the charger's flex cable or a loose connection in the charger's flex cable plug perhaps.

What is the full model number of the laptop as shown by the product information label on the bottom of the laptop?

Knowing this will help to find the problem in the laptop. Laptops don't have a separate power board. The power regulation and distribution circuits are on the motherboard.
